My Baby Business

My Baby Business

Over the past nine months I have been experiencing awkward conversations related to why we didn’t announce our pregnancy. I delve into this episode about the reasons behind that, how I lost some friends, and the expectations made by others in this day and age of gender reveals and baby announcements. Join me as I share my experience and leave me some of your ideas, thoughts, and revelations as I dive into my baby business. Disclaimer: this podcast briefly touches upon miscarriage.

Feeling Overwhelmed-A Review

Feeling Overwhelmed-A Review

It’s been one year since I started the Beautifully Awkward Podcast and what a year it has been. In the last few months we have all experienced a collective challenge with the COVID-19 pandemic, Black Lives Matter Movement, and to throw in for good measure, Murder Hornets. Writing that out seems like I am reviewing a novel, but that has been our reality for the year 2020. In this episode I provide some awkward experiences such as talking about differences in social distancing practices to having a co-worker make overt racist comments and provide my thoughts on how to maneuver through. I also provide some ideas for managing the overwhelm that comes with these times and ways to break it all down, like using Asana as a way to manage family projects, and how to hopefully grow and evolve through the days and months ahead. I would love to hear from you and maybe even start a dialog about how you have been coping. I have thrown myself into a positive project called Classic, Curvy, and Beautiful on Facebook where I provide weekly self-care ideas and articles to manage life for women (I am working on expanding to include the gentleman of the group, but that is still in the works). I am consuming articles, podcasts, and doing weekly “challenges” to keep myself busy and all the while returning to work full time. It’s a whirlwind of a year, but I hope we all come out a bit better in the end. Feel free to email me at Beautifullyawkwardpodcast@yahoo.com or jump over to our Facebook page to check things out. If this is your first episode, Welcome! Hopefully the next year evolves further and this podcast continues to bring you a sense of belonging. As always, you are not alone and I hope to hear from you soon!

Journey of Growth-Becoming a Pageant Queen

Journey of Growth-Becoming a Pageant Queen

This is a near and dear episode to me as I sat down with Jessica Barclay as she discusses finding her start in pageantry at twenty-seven years of age. She discusses the intricate details of pageantry but also speaks about her transformation and growth not only as a contestant, but as a women finding herself. Jessica now uses a platform to help other women find their dreams and accomplish them. This episode is about identifying what you want, even if there are factors out of your control, developing a plan and doing it (Even if you fail or have awkward moments). Jessica is entering the 2020 Galaxy Pageant and is re-branding her podcast as the Pageant Land Podcast in the coming year. Listen in and hopefully take away some motivation to identify and go for your dreams too.
As always, feel free to email me at Beautifullyawkwardpodcast@yahoo.com, on Instagram or Facebook under the same name or leave a voicemail on Anchor. I would love to hear your thoughts or how this episode motivated you. Thank you for listening in and know you are not alone in the awkward moments of life!

Retro Weird: Coming Into Your Own

Retro Weird: Coming Into Your Own

This week I got a chance to talk with Chris who had his own podcast, Multiple Podcast Disorder where he talks about all things pop culture. He described himself as a weird kid trying to maneuver through his early childhood loving anime and Japanese movies. He discusses how he couldn’t talk about his interests with others for fear of seeming like he wanted to be someone he wasn’t. In the end, he found people who embraced his interests and he now talks about them on his podcast. Listen in, feel free to email, Instagram, or Facebook us and rate us on iTunes! Happy listening!
